HOW TO HIDE FROM YOURSELF:A SOLO HIDE AND SEEK GAME

XR / HCI Research / Game

How to Hide from Yourself?

A solo XR hide-and-seek game that turns the player into both observer and observed.

I reimagined a familiar childhood game as an embodied experiment in self-perception.
The experience combines a purpose-built physical playground with an external 360° view of the participant’s body,
creating a conflict between what the player sees and where they physically exist.

Rather than treating VR as a purely virtual medium, I designed the project as a hybrid system in which spatial design,
physical movement and real-time imagery shape the experience together.
Navigating real obstacles while attempting to hide from another version of oneself gradually blurs the boundary between the hider and the seeker.

The project demonstrates how an abstract research question can be translated into an intuitive, playful and visually distinctive experience.
